IRB Barcelona leads a major European effort to establish the first molecular dynamics database, having secured €3.3 M in funding. This collaboration includes renowned institutions and aims to unify, store, and make accessible vast amounts of molecular dynamics data. Over three years, the project will build an infrastructure to enhance computational resource optimisation, facilitate data analysis, and integrate molecular dynamics more deeply into various research fields.
The initiative promises significant advancements in biochemistry, pharmacology, personalised medicine, and more, setting the stage for a future infrastructure that consolidates molecular simulation results within the biological data ecosystem. Dr. Modesto Orozco and his team's pioneering work seeks to revolutionise the understanding and application of molecular dynamics simulations.
