Salvador Aznar has been distinguished in the “Young Talent in Biomedical Research” category.
Constantes y Vitales, the Corporate Responsibility campaign run by laSexta and the Fundación AXA, has granted ICREA researcher Salvador Aznar Benitah, head of the Stem Cell and Cancer Laboratory at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona), the Young Talent in Biomedical Research Award, which provides 100,000 euros to ensure the continuity of his work.
The team headed by Aznar Benitah pursues several lines of research, all of which focus on the study of adult stem cells, addressing questions such as their relation with circadian rhythms and metastasis.
The “Constantes y Vitales” Award acknowledges Aznar Benitah’s exceptional career in science, reflected by his more than 30 publications as principal investigator in prestigious international journals such as Nature, Science and Cell.
Diana Domínguez, PhD student in the Stem Cell and Cancer Laboratory, has collected the award on his behalf from Silvio González, CEO of Atresmedia, in a presentation held in Madrid and chaired by Mamen Mendizábal, ambassador of the initiative.
The “Constantes y Vitales a la Investigación biomédica y la Prevención en salud” Award seeks to foster and pay tribute to the research efforts of scientists in Spain and recognize their efforts in promoting health.
