IRB Barcelona director, Joan J. Guinovart, is interviewed in El País above researcher mobility and the brain drain, and the difficulty to attract and retain talent, something that very few centres can achieve. Regarding the brain drain, Guinovart considers that "those who leave will miss Spain but they will have an easy and respectable life with a good salary and career opportunities. But society will be impoverished". According to Guinovart, the solution lies in correcting the model, by building a flexible, sharp and efficient system. There are examples of this."
