La Vanguardia dedica un artículo a la estrategia que ha tomado Cataluña frente a Ley de la Ciencia española. La Generalitat ha creado la institución Cerca que agrupa a 39 centros de investigación y cuyo objetivo es que centros que se han convertido en referencias internacionales, como el IRB Barcelona, no pierdan la capacidad de contratar y retener a investigadores líderes en sus campos "ya que sería muy perjudicial" según Lluís Torner, presidente de la Asociación Catalana de Entidades de Investigación.
About IRB Barcelona
The Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) pursues a society free of disease. To this end, it conducts multidisciplinary research of excellence to cure cancer and other diseases linked to ageing. It establishes technology transfer agreements with the pharmaceutical industry and major hospitals to bring research results closer to society, and organises a range of science outreach activities to engage the public in an open dialogue.
