Patrick Aloy, ICREA researcher and group leader of the Structural Bioinformatics and Network Biology group at IRB Barcelona, has been interviewed on the Radio 4 programme “L’Observatori” (The Observatory) about his work on the development of a model that predicts the positive or negative effects that chemical compounds fragments may have on health. Currently including data for 20% of diseases, the model will allow the design of safer drugs, the identification of new uses for drugs already on the market, and the detection of associations between diseases.
