The institute has trained, only in the last five years, more than 50 students through the “Spend the summer at the Park!” programme

This summer IRB Barcelona labs will be hosting 5 university students in the 12th “Spend the summer at the Park!” programme, run by the Barcelona Science Park. In the second cycle of their degree studies, the participants will do a lab placement lasting between 2 and 3 months, during which time they will get hands-on experience of the pioneering projects in biomedicine being undertaken by the Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology, Cell Biology and Development, Oncology, and Molecular Medicine Programmes.

For IRB Barcelona, this initiative meets one of the missions of the centre, namely to promote scientific vocation and training of students. In fact, only in the last five years, the institute has hosted more than 50 university students. The 22 labs at IRB Barcelona and the 6 scientific platforms have trained young people in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biophysics, Physics, and Pharmacy degrees from universities in Catalonia, the rest of Spain and abroad.
