On Monday, the weekly medical newspaper “Gaceta Médica” reported on the study published in the journal Nature Genetics by the Colorectal Cancer Laboratory at IRB Barcelona, led by ICREA researcher Eduard Batlle. This study associates the alterations caused by colon tumour cells in healthy cells in surrounding tissues, called stroma, with the probability of developing subsequent metastasis.
