"We can find out what makes us human at the molecular level", says IRB Barcelona scientist Modesto Orozco in an article in the newspaper ARA devoted to the "Human Brain" project, an initiative that has recently received Eurpean funding of approximately 500 million euros. IRB Barcelona and the Barcelona Supercomputing Center are the Catalan organizations involved in this ambitious European project, which seeks to develop a virtual model of the brain that will serve to provide answers to questions about many diseases.
