The “Fundación Madri+d” devotes an article to the study done by Patrick Aloy and Miquel Duran on the side effects of drugs. Published in Chemistry and Biology, the study reveals 1,162 molecular mechanisms that could explain the side effects of about 1000 drugs studied. The bioinformatics analysis undertaken in Aloy’s lab could make a significant contribution to minimizing the list of secondary effects caused by new generation drugs.
