Miquel Duran, chemist and IRB Barcelona researcher in the Structural Bioinformatics and Network Biology Group, talks to Onda Regional de Murcia about his research into the side-effects of drugs. The study published in Chemistry and Biology (Cell), explains Duran, "will be allow the pharmaceutical industry to improve the next generation of drugs". Duran goes on to say that they are aware that multinational pharmaceutical companies are interested in the study and that the research may also be useful for physicians".

"It is very difficult to predict the effects that a drug can have in a small percentage of people, but this study and others are showing the direction to take", said Duran during the extensive interview for the programme "Adelantos".
