The newspaper “El País” interviews Manuel Serrano, group leader of the Cellular Plasticity and Disease Lab, on the occasion of his recent incorporation at IRB Barcelona thanks to the ICREA programme and the Obra Social "la Caixa".
In the interview, Manuel Serrano talks about anti-ageing treatments, with a special focus on his studies on how damaged tissue is repaired and the search for therapies based on regenerative medicine for the treatment of diabetes and pulmonary fibrosis. He also talks about his first spin-off, Senolytic Therapeutics, aimed at bringing a drug to clinical trials to remove cells that build up in damaged tissue.
