The newspaper ABC devotes several lines to the award ceremony of the third edition of the ‘la Caixa’ fellowships, an event atended by the Minister of Science and innovation, Cristina Garmendia. The fellowships are given to finance PhD studies of young people from all over the world who want to do their doctoral studies in one of the four leading centres in Spain, which include IRB Barcelona.

The Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) pursues a society free of disease. To this end, it conducts multidisciplinary research of excellence to cure cancer and other diseases linked to ageing.
