The newspapers El País and ABC, among other media, have echoed on the last Barcelona Biomed Conference, called “Immunotherapy beyond cancer. A cure for age-related diseases”, which was held from 18 to 20 November. “Immunotherapy is still very experimental, but we believe that in the future it could be beneficial for the treatment of diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and pulmonary and renal fibrosis,” says Manuel Serrano, ICREA researcher at IRB Barcelona and co-organiser of the conference together with the scientist Guido Kroemer, from the Centre de Recherche des Cordeliers (Paris). As in previous events, this conference was organised by IRB Barcelona with the support of the BBVA Foundation.
