A report broadcasted by TV3, in the programme El Medi Ambient, addresses the use of plants from Chinese medicine in drug discovery at IRB Barcelona. The reports focuses on researchers in the group led by Ernest Giralt, head of the Chemistry and Pharmacology Programme, and studies they are undertaking in the search for new active molecules against schizophrenia and diabetes.

The Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) pursues a society free of disease. To this end, it conducts multidisciplinary research of excellence to cure cancer and other diseases linked to ageing.
