The coordinator of the Oncology Programme at IRB Barcelona will also share his vision of the challenges and opportunities faced by Catalonia in order to maintain its leadership in global science.
Organised by “El Periódico de Catalunya” and with the support of the “Banco Sabadell”, the Primera Plan@ conferences are attended by distinguished managing directors, academics, lawyers, researchers, and representatives from the financial and social sectors and trade unions.
Eduard Batlle is the next speaker in the forum Primera Plan@, an event organised monthly by “El Periódico de Catalunya” with the support of the “Banco Sabadell”. The conference will be given at 9.00 am on Tuesday 27 May in the Hotel Juan Carlos I, in Barcelona.
Batlle, coordinator of the Oncology Programme at IRB Barcelona, head of the Colorectal Cancer Laboratory, and ICREA research professor, will address the most promising research lines in cancer and the challenges and opportunities facing Catalonia if it wishes to continue enjoying recognition as a potent region in science.

The Primera Plan@ talks were launched in 2013. Since then several renowned people have contributed to this initiative, including: the director of Change.org, Francisco Polo; the president and CEO of Telefónica I+D, Carlos Domingo; and the most recent ones, the Catalan chef, Ferran Adrià, and the president of F.C. Barcelona, Josep Maria Bartomeu.
These conferences seek to promote reflection and analysis of the most relevant issues for society. The audience comprises leading managing directors, academics, distinguished lawyers, researchers and representatives from the financial and social sectors and trade unions.
