The online platform Public Service Review, in its last issue devoted to the European Union, includes a long article by Joan J Guinovart, Director of IRB Barcelona. The article addresses to the situation of science in Spain and how it has evolved. “It is now time to close the loop by implementing solutions to effectively translate the research results produced in laboratories into benefits for patients by developing tools, technologies, diagnostics and medicines that will also contribute to the creation of a dynamic sector of the economy securely grounded in knowledge and innovation”, says Guinovart.
