An investors round-table event designed for young researchers and aspiring entrepreneurs in the life sciences. This event will provide invaluable insights into the crucial steps of securing venture capital funding. Distinguished venture capitalists junior profiles who have successfully transitioned from academia will share their personal journeys, offering valuable perspectives on how to successfully navigate the venture capital landscape, from preparing investor meetings and identifying key milestones and demonstrating impactful early-stage data to securing funding, improve negotiating and building successful partnerships with investors.
This interactive session will provide a unique opportunity for attendees to engage in open dialogue with professionals, gain practical advice, and build valuable connections within the venture capital ecosystem.

Laura Argelich, PhD, Investment analyst at Ysios Capital
Laura contributes to the identification and evaluation of investment opportunities at Ysios Capital, from both scientific and business perspectives. Prior to joining Ysios, Laura worked at the Stem Cells and Neurogenesis unit at Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan, where she received her PhD in Molecular Medicine – Neuroscience and Experimental Neurology from the Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele. Laura holds a master’s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biomedicine from the UAB.
Anna Bellmunt, PhD, Senior associate at Asabys
Senior associate at Asabys, Anna is responsible for sourcing and assessing opportunities from the scientific, development and business perspectives. Previously, Anna was Investment analyst at LSP (current EQT Life Sciences). Anna also served as Innovation Manager at the KTTO at IDIBAPS. Before, Anna was a researcher at IRB Barcelona. Anna was awarded a PhD in Biomedicine from the UB, a master’s degree in Biomedical Research from the UPF and two bachelor’s degrees, in Chemistry and Biochemistry, by the UB.
Cinta Díez, PhD, Investment analyst at Invivo Partners
She works as an Investment analyst at Invivo Partners since April 2023. She previously worked as a TT Manager at UPF’s Business Shuttle. Earlier, she was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf (Germany). Cinta holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences (University of Strathclyde, UK) , two master’s degree Global Health and Cooperation (UAB) and in Biomedical Research (UPF) and a bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology (URV), Her research interests and expertise ranged from neuroscience and molecular biology.
Laia Pascual, PhD, Investment manager at Ship2B Ventures
Laia is Investment Manager at Ship2B Ventures, an early stage impact venture capital firm that invests in new technologies aiming at improving the quality of life of patients and the society. She holds a PhD in Tumor Immunology by LMU University and an Executive MBA by IESE Business School, and has first-hand experience as an entrepreneur leading a biotech company. Laia has also supported several life-science companies to accelerate their growth and define their fundraising strategy as part of EIT Health, a European-wide accelerator.
Alba Olivares, PhD, Senior Tech Transfer at IRB Barcelona
She is responsible for identifying new discoveries and boosting the technology transfer process. She holds a PhD in Biotechnology from the University of Barcelona and a BSc in Biotechnology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. In addition, she completed her postgraduate studies in Innovation Management at the University of Barcelona and she is a former President of the Catalan Association of Biotechnologists (ASBTEC).
