Social Life
We work hard to achieve our goal—to advance the biomedical sciences. But we also like to have fun. IRB Barcelona promotes several social activities, such as monthly "Cool-off sessions", where members meet informally for drinks, snacks and scientific discussions in the cafeteria. Other activities include a Football League, an annual skiing trip, a Mountaineering Club and a Running Club.
Be Healthy, Be IRB
We believe in a healthy culture that promotes and facilitates well-being as an integral part of the institution’s identity. IRB Barcelona members can enjoy in-house yoga & zumba classes, “Feel-good Wednesdays” with low-cost physiotherapy sessions, health and safety training, gym discounts, etc.
You & Your Family Matter
IRB Barcelona is committed to helping its members to achieve a work-life balance and offers them discounts for child-care services, and a “Som UB” member card issued by the University of Barcelona, which offers discounts for theatres, travel, insurance, etc.
