Dr. Stefanie Wculek leads the new research group.
IRB Barcelona has inaugurated a new laboratory dedicated to immunology research under the leadership of Dr. Stefanie Wculek. This initiative aims to deepen our understanding of the immune system's role in health and disease, emphasising the body's innate defences and their reaction to conditions like cancer, ageing, and more.
The establishment of this lab, supported by "la Caixa" Foundation, marks a strategic step toward integrating cutting-edge immunological research with clinical application. It is part of the broader Translational Research and Innovation Programme (TRIP), which seeks to swiftly translate laboratory discoveries into clinical practices, benefiting patient care and advancing immunology research.
