From the bench to the market
Overview of the development process from the fundamental research results obtained in our labs until a product (drug) reaches the market. Particular focus on the development of new drugs.
Session II - Tuesday, 12 May 2020
Drug Discovery: From target to Lead
This session will provide a practical overview about how to design and run early drug discovery programs. Following the general overview in Session I, we will focus on the drug discovery steps. Drug discovery programmes start from target discovery and end with the selection of a drug candidate - a small molecule ready to enter pre-clinical phases. Main focus on chemical entities as drugs.
Session III - Tuesday, 19 May 2020
Inventions, Disclosures & Patents
Securing Intellectual Property Rights is key to enhance the opportunity of new inventions to reach the market. This session will address questions about the steps to follow once new results arise in your lab. Some of the topics covered: Discoveries vs. Inventions. What is a disclosure? When and how to protect it? Patents and scientific publications are compatible: see a few tips on how to make it possible.
Session IV - Tuesday, 26 May 2020
Valley of Death, Grants & Seed Funding
How to get funding for Proof-of-Concept stage. Funding initiatives and entities as well as advice on how to select a suitable one for your project. This session will also provide tips for structuring and writing wining proposals.
Session V - Tuesday, 2 June 2020
Commercialization & Marketing
This session will address commercialization and marketing strategies for your research. Some of the topics covered: Market analysis. Novel business models. Spin-off creation.

Personal Branding
Overview about Personal Branding. What is Personal Branding and why is it so relevant in the healthcare and biotech sectors? This session will provide tips on how to develop an effective personal pitch.
