- IRB Barcelona launches a new campaign to raise funds and accelerate cancer research.
- Faster than Cancer invites everyone, regardless of previous running experience, to run the Cursa de la Mercè with IRB Barcelona researchers.
Faster than Cancer is a movement of people who run in support of biomedical research to accelerate the discovery of a cure for cancer. The goal is to mobilize thousands of people to run in various races throughout Spain in support of cancer research.
The first challenge that the movement has set is to have 100 people join the Institute's team in the Cursa de la Mercè in Barcelona on 17 September.
Participants who register will receive an IRB Barcelona running shirt and are invited to train with the team on 6, 12, and 15 September. There will be two different training sessions led by a professional coach: one for people who have never run in a race before and another for those who have.
All runners are encouraged to create a micro-donation campaign to raise €100 among their family and friends.
