Readers of the newspaper “La Vanguardia” have voted on the best research work performed in Spain in 2016, giving the third place to the work on metastasis by Salvador Aznar Benitah and Gloria Pascual at IRB Barcelona.
Organised by the newspaper and the Catalunya - La Pedrera Foundation, the competition "Vanguardia de la Cencia", gives this distinction to the candidate who receives most votes from readers.

The Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) pursues a society free of disease.
