Carlos Romero, a 44-year-old telecommunications engineer from Sant Esteve Sesrovires, Barcelona, presented his campaign "Nadar contra corriente" (Swim against the current) on the programme “Som el que fem" on TV3.
Last year, Carlos set himself the challenge of swimming across the Strait of Gibraltar in support of IRB Barcelona’s research into cancer and metastasis.

The Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) pursues a society free of disease.
