“El Magazine” of “La Vanguardia” devotes an article to Joan Massagué, Josep Basega, and Valentí Fuster, three people from Barcelona who have settled in New York, where they hold positions of great responsibility in biomedical centres.

Joan Massagué, cofounder of IRB Barcelona and current chair of its External Advisory Committee, heads 1200 researchers at the Sloan Kettering Institute, the research arm of one of the main hospitals in the United States, namely the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

The Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) pursues a society free of disease.
