The online newspaper Materia devotes an article to Spain's science policy, for which the journalist consulted principal agents in various kinds of organization. Among them two directors of "Severo Ochoa” Centres of Excellence, Joan Guinovart (IRB Barcelona) and Manuel de León (ICMAT), in addition to the tech transfer director at ICFO, Silvia Carrasco, and the vice dean for research of the “Universidad de Extremadura”, Manuel González. The main issue is how to improve results in science without increasing budget allocation in times of crisis.
