Today the SINC Agency, the scientific news portal run by the Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología (FECYT), publishes an extensive report on statistics, with a special focus on the potential of this science in biomedicine. The science journalist, Marta Palomo, goes through statistical applications in many disciplines with the help of experts David Rossell, at IRB Barcelona, Donald Berry, at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, David Conesa, at the University of Valencia, and Marc Baguelin, at the Public Health Agency of London. All these experts were brought together during the Barcelona Biomed Conference entitled "Bayesian Methods in Biostatistics and Bioinformatics", organized at the end of December by IRB Barcelona and the BBVA Foundation.
