El Periódico de Catalunya reports on the ceremony held yesterday in CaixaForum Madrid, where 40 students received the "la Caixa" fellowships awards to persue a doctorate in biomedicine in four leading biomedical research centers in Spain. 10 of these students are working at the IRB Barcelona.

The journalist talked to, among others, IRB Barcelona PhD students Helea Khaisourane from France, Bahareh Eftekharzadeh from the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Joan J. Guinovart, IRB Barcelona director.

The Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) pursues a society free of disease.
