Today the newspaper “Expansión” , focused on ecomomic affairs, has published a full page interview with Joan J. Guinovart, in which he draws attention to the weak relations between the economy and science in Spain. “CEOs still fail to appreciate the economic potential of scientific research”, says the director of IRB Barcelona. "Although it is true that", according to Guinovart, “centres of excellence with capacity to generate good results have only been around for the last 15 years, it is only now that we have the means to produce a Nobel Laureate”.
