The new programme will promote interdisciplinary research and mobility between scientists.
IRB Barcelona will open this week the first call of its international programme of
postdoctoral grants “IRBPostPro”, which includes the award of 18
fellowships over the next four years. In this first call, eight two-year fellowships
will be offered, these for the incorporation of talented scientists from Spain
and abroad. The fellowships will be co-financed by the COFUND
Programme, part of the Marie Curie Actions of the 7th EU Framework Programme.
The COFUND budget of 75 million euros will be divided between the
beneficiaries.
One of the main objectives of the IRB Barcelona
International Postdoctoral Programme is to promote mobility and
interdisciplinary research of excellence in an International scientific
environment. Candidates will be evaluated by a committee comprising 10 experts
from universities and leading national and international research centres. This
committee will base their decisions on the research experience of each
candidate. The application deadline is 15 February 2011.
In addition to the IRB Barcelona
International Postdoctoral Programme, the institute is supported by “la Caixa”
International PhD Programme, which provides for highly motivated students from
around the world who wish to undertake their doctoral thesis at the institute.
