Spanish patents get lost

The newspaper El Mundo, published an article on the situation of the Spanish patents. Among the experts consulted is Modesto Orozco, head of the group “Molécular modelling and bioinformatics” at IRB Barcelona. Modesto complains that “The difference in our country between the number of scientific articles published and the number of patents is enormous. This means that in some way, this is throwing money because it is generating lots of knowledge others are taking advantage of.
