The newspaper ‘El Economista’, devoted to the economy and the stock market, has published an article on the investment of the Obra Social ‘la Caixa’ in training for young researchers. 18,4 million euros will be assigned to financing the doctoral studies of 160 young people, 40 each year during 4 years. The beneficiaries of the ‘la Caixa’ grants will join one of the four leading biomedical centres in Spain, namely the National Cancer Centre (CNIO), the National Center for Biotechnology (CNB-CSIC), the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) and the IRB Barcelona.

The Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) pursues a society free of disease.
