IRB Barcelona's spin-off Gate2Brain has received a grant from the EIC Accelerator Programme. Run by the European Innovation Council (EIC), the EIC Accelerator Programme supports individual Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), in particular start-ups and spin-offs, to develop and scale game-changing technologies. The initiative, which spans 17 countries, is distinguished by 15% female ownership of the enterprises awarded.
According to Dr. Meritxell Teixidó, CEO of Gate2Brain, the €2.5M euros granted to the company through this programme will help advance the preclinical regulatory trails for its proprietary compound G2B-00. This research focuses on brain tumours with intact barriers.
